Mother's Day
A scriptural comment concerning Mother's Day:

Matthew 12:46-50

46While Jesus was still talking to the crowd, his mother and brothers stood outside, wanting to speak to him. 47Someone told him, "Your mother and brothers are standing outside, wanting to speak to you."

48He replied to him, "Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?" 49Pointing to his disciples, he said, "Here are my mother and my brothers. 50For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother."

My comment regarding Mother's day, is this. What has been a day set aside to honor one's mother, should not be a substitute for giving honor where it is due on the Lord's Day: to the Lord God, through Christ, our mediator, and high priest. All worship must be done in a proper, scripture-based manner.

Hebrews 4:12-16

2For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. 13Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account. 14Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has gone through the heavens,[e] Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. 15For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet was without sin. 16Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

Hi
Just thought of dropping you a line before I go to bed.
Well, after those comments, feel that Christians are really being "hated" when we speak the truth huh? Why? Anyway, I enjoyed what you have written. We should stand firm in our belief, in the Lord. =) Be blessed!

Re: Hi
Thank you! Yes, it is to be expected. If you look at what happened to the prophets, Jesus, his apostles and others who followed in his footsteps, they were all subject to ridicule, derision, and persecution. You have to bear it and realize that it is not against you, if you use scripture to answer questions. They are fighting against the word of God. It is up to them to resolve it, if they ever do.
